I made 2 frames for passive solar heating. They both go inside the house in my south window which is very wide, about 76" wide.

I used wavy metal, painted it black, used a wood frame, no insulation in this one, and an acrylic Plexiglass cover. I hooked a 5vdc fan to it and I manually turn on the fan when the air gets hot enough.

On a sunny day the thing will produce 180F air, but typical temperatures are 120-150F. It was so hot sometimes, my old digital house thermometer only went up to 140F, and it broke! I now use an oven thermometer for the passive solar heater.

Tip: use an oven thermometer.
