Hi:

Very glad to see so many wind pioneers here. I'm Wolfgang (wolfgang@zytechaerodyne.com), a recruit register here when i saw so much discussion on our Lakota and Longbow.

I want to give more threads about Lakota and Longbow. I worked for Zytech Solar Group (Spain) which has acquired all Lakota technology, production line of Lakota and Longbow from former US manufacturer Aeromag and Aeromax. The new representation Zytech Aerodyne now is the exclusive manufacturer of this 2 units with facility in Qingdao,China.

Now i'm working with Lex.Bartlett, the founder and inventer of Lakota and Longbow also the former CEO of Aeromag and Aeromax, now is VP technical director in Zytech Aerodyne.

I found some lakota owners has got problems here so if any help you need please contact or leave me a message.

Hi Wolfgang,
Thanks very much for the info. I'm one of the Lakoda owners who has experienced problems in the past with my turbine. The current one has been running for almost 2 years now. The only issue is lack of output due to the turbine furling too soon. I estimate I'm losing about 50% of it's potential capacity.

Hi Ric:

Thanks for your sharing experience with Lakota. That's very important info for us. We are sorry about yout problems. Please tell me some details about your output. What year Lakota you have there in which MOD? Average wind speed in your erection height.

Lex has improved mounting furling spring, tail boom,Controller (Load Diversion Regulater) and compression coupler in 2006 version Lakota and Longbow. From you it seems has an unqulified spring as same as some problems happen in former Aeromag. They do hit some problems when they moved facility to China in 2001 and future several years from unqualified local components suppliers. After we recoordinate suppliy chain with qualified suppliers the issue has been solved. We'are also working on updating new structure furling spring under testing to make furling up much more reasonable and reliable.Capture as much as possible the energy before it furl up.

We'll send you new spring after testing program.

Hello Ric,

The springs are your problem. I found a solution that works. See #9 on this thread
http://www.greenpowertalk.org/showthread.php?t=6893

The trick is to get the unit to not go beyond 60deg tilt. I finally gave up on this unit as it does not produce more that 53v 13amps.

Hi Joseph,
Agreed on the spring and travel issue. Still haven't lowered mine since we last talked so no changes made yet. Still say there's something wrong with yours as the output should not be that low. All 3 of the ones I've had were capable of 1000w. Just could not sustain that output. Mine is 24v but don't see why that would make any difference. I have mine adjusted to max which gives me around 28-29V. Is yours set as high as it will go on the controller board?

Hi Ric:

Would you leave me your post infos so we can send you new set springs by TNT Express.

The spring should be changed every 2 years as its fatigue from upfurling and down.
