Great looking set of wheels! Has anyone taken this particular one for a test drive or better yet own one?

Hi Joe,
The electric bike shown there seems good in design. It's sports look attracts the bike lovers but can you please light on its maximum speed and pickup?

Its polycarbonate hinged upper shell has a 120-watt SunPower solar panel built into the roof, to help charge the vehicle's 48V/30Ah lithium-iron-phosphate battery pack.

I found this second-hand one (it's a 2012 model) with less than 500 kilometres on the clock! Got it for AUD 4,400.

I'll keep you informed.

Sweet ride Joe!
Though this may cut in to your reclining-bike exercise...

This one is not so good for leg development, but I think it'll be good for upper body strength because the harder you push on the handlebars the faster you go.. :blink1: *

I've taken it for a couple of rides and it'll be some time for me to get used to not having a brake pedal. The brakes are like a bicycle, right hand for the front, left hand for the rear. I'm also going to have to develop a technique for smooth take off from standing. The power comes on suddenly, no clutch, but I think judicious use of the rear brake might be a good substitute for that.

*Or so I'm told.

Joe, brakes are not a 'green' feature! Every time you hit the brakes you're trowing away precious kinetic energy, and decreasing your range. Get rid of those brakes!

Actually, the new ride has regenerative braking. By closing the throttle the engine starts acting as a generator and recharging the battery. I also understand it has reverse. Twisting the throttle past the rest position turns the motor backwards. I'd wondered why it had such big mirrors. :weird::idea:
