we have trouble that our windgenerator from Hummer turn out of the wind a lot
do you think that moving the tail blade above the generatorblades turbelence will help prevent this ?
has enyone done this ?

Hello and welcome

What you describe sounds like"furling"of the turbine. It occurs in order to limit the wind and hence the energy produced by the turbine. My H80 1kw turbine does this as well. If you watch closely you'll see the rpm's lessen as the turbine head deflects out of the wind (and if you can see the energy displayed on the charge controller you can see it drop as the furling occurs).

If the turbine didn't furl it would likely overspeed, overcharge and overheat...not a good combination. Have a look in your owners manual and you may find a description of furling operation.

Hello Ralf,
ofcourse the engine has to firl but not with 5ms
we have tryed to make the tail higher so it comes above the turbulence of the blades and it seems to be much better then.

my question is has anyone ever tryed to change the tail position on this kind of generator
the tail is also fitted on a turning point near the generator so in extreme high winds the tail wil go 90 degrees away from the blade position
this only happeness with extreme high wind and is a protection
