Hello to all,
My name is Mario De Castris and after sandbagging in the background for a while I thought I will get my feet wet and introduce myself. I've been doing a lot of reading on this form as well other renewable energy groups. I have been generating most of my own power required for my house almost five years now. As a new thread started yesterday regarding tilting towers I will be posting some pictures as soon I find out how to do it as I am not very good with computers. I have built two tilting towers for my own use, one being about 16 m and one about 22 m .

Greetings Mario,
Welcome.
I am in the process of putting up a wind turbine and tower (among other things) at my off-grid cottage located in Renfrew county.
All information gleaned from experienced folks in this renewable energy area saves me a whole bunch of trial and error.
I look forward to your pics and thoughts.
Regards,
Mark

I must say after personally watching Mario tilt down that 50 foot tower in a couple of minutes single handedly I was impressed.:) Paul

Greetings Mario,
Great pics. Nice design. You must have good wind resource. Looking at the trees in the background of pic 4 shows them all leaning hard left.
Is it telescoping? Any sort of estimate on the thrust loading capacity? Looks like well casing or gas pipeline pipe.
Would appreciate further construction details. My e-mail is mark (at) mptinc (dot) com.:)
Thanks.

Hello Mark,
I do have the trust loading capacity but I don't know if I can find my old papers. The 65 ft. it's a tilting pipe tower constructed out of three 6 in. diameter well casing 2 of the pipes are 10 ft. in concrete and 20 ft. up to the pivoting point, the 3dr 6 in. pipe is hinged 20 ft. down and 10 ft. up, next pipe is 30 ft. long with 10 ft. inside the 6 in. and above that is 4 in. and a short 2 1/2 in. to fit the turbine hub for a total of 65 ft. of high. The other tower is also tilting, it was originally a 65 ft. Delhi DMX 68. This tower is also in 10 ft. of concrete, the pivoting point is that 11 ft. the tower is completely reinforced and stands at 46 ft. at hubs height. both towers have hand wenches and counterbalance.

Thanks Mario for the descriptions.
I have access to a lattice free standing very similar to your Delhi.
I would love to see more of how you made it tilting.
Mark
