Hello guy's,
I am new here and want to introduce my self
I am Cor van Houtum 51 years old and living in the Netherlands
I am testing and importing Hummer dynamo windgenerator in range of 500 watt to 5kw
The problem with hummer is they only supply off grid systems (as they say they have on grid also)
we have tryed to put them on grid at first with WEL2k rectifier and inverter from SUNGROW.
This is a great way to lose your money.
Thanks to Rob we are testing now with Aurora and i must say a new world opens up.
Fantastic inverter I must say
We made contact to Power-one and agreed on distribution for The Netherlands and Belgium.
We still have some problems with the Hummer generator because it is a single phase engine (only two wires).
We lost a 5kw in high winds because the ground leak from the Aurora came in to action
And our dumpload could not hold the generator in range.
The windinterface 7200 starts smoking
In a moment of no thinking we shorted the generator trying to stop it
it was in dangerous speed.
then it burned and shorted it self
After a bottle of scotch I forgot the pain and went on with the next project.
2kw Hummer on a 14 meter pole in our industrial area.
Looking for a pole I came across a company that sells heavy light poles ment for sports fields lighting.
BIG mistake
last friday we had high wind 100kmh gusting
the pole starts to move about 3 meters in the top
the tail of the generator breaks and grabs the wings
we found one sticking 30 cm into our roof (steelplate) one is still missing and after a couple of hours someone found number three in a wastland 300 meters from our company.
The windgenerator was a 2kw hummer 3.8 meter diameter
the last reading on my laptop with the aurora software was 2750 watts and we where happy but did not wanted to go into trouble.
This was just before we put the manual brake on the engine
I was thinking the windgenerator could not start when shortened
WRONG it started
The pole is bend 45 degrees and can be considered lost.
But we go on
Yesterday I recieved my ordered 12 meter hydraulic tower
so the show must go on
I hope to tell you more plesant stories in the future.
greetings
