I had recently bought a 2000 jetta VW TDI turbo diesel to convert to used vegi oil (UVO). The components I used are from Greasecar in the U.S.
My conversion went so smooth it's hard to believe. No leaks, no electric problems, and no hic-ups. It switches over from diesel to UVO with out even noticing. I have driven over 300 km the last two days, and love it. :D
I plan to attend the Earth Day Tour on April 20, so if you have any questions, keep an eye out for it.

Congrats with the conversion Martin!
How does it work? You start on regular diesel and after the engine warms up you switch over? Or can you start on WVO (if I recall correctly that doesn't work)? What prep work is needed for the WVO to use it as fuel (filtering I would imagine)?

Hey Rob,
With mine, you start it up on diesel, then when the water temp reaches 150 deg. (the oil is heated from the coolant lines) the controller automatically switches it to oil.
Then at shut down, you push a button to flush the oil line with diesel, and it switches back to diesel. The flush is to keep the veg oil out of the line at night. This takes about 30 seconds.
For filtering the used oil, you just heat to 120 deg. and pour it thru a 5 micron filter bag.
There are many way's of filtering and it also depends on the quality of oil you can get. Martin

What do you smell like going down the road currently? Onion rings, fish, fries?;)

Martin,
Is your wind turbine visible from Durham Rd 21? I remember seeing one from that road on a drive from Port Perry to Scarborough...the only one besides Pickering Nuclear's in the Durham area that i've seen.
