You have to wonder about the mentality of some politicians. Today, around the nation there was a "Walk Against Climate Change".

With a federal election in less than 2 weeks, the idea was to put pressure on BOTH sides of politics to do a bit more.

However, one brainless polly over here found it all too much when he discovered that the state owned railway system was giving free transport to the march in Fremantle. This clown complained about spending taxpayers money to support action on this front. I mean, Fremantle, where the march was held, is roughly 20 km from the centre of Perth, so I wonder how many litres of petrol this tax-payer funded political stunt saved???

Did he really expect people (who pay the taxes that support the public transport system) to DRIVE down there in their cars, to a rally to combat climate change?

Oh, dear. Luckily this prat isn't standing for Federal Parliament.

Then later on in the day

this link arrived in my "in-box".

So I sent him a copy of the document with a suggestion that if he wished to have some credibility he might want to read this and see if he could have some policy on the matter.

I also sent it to our minister for infrastructure and planning who organised the transport, with muted congratulations, saying neither party has really DONE much, but admitting that free public transport was one of the only positive moves I'd ever seen done by ANY government, and thus thanks.
