Very interesting concept. I can see multiple strip generators being mounted in a series like Venetian blinds, which could be "opened" and "closed" according to need, even tilted at various angles similar to that of "feathering" a windmill.

In that format I'd probably try going from having individual coils and magnets for each strip, and have the entire series joined in the center with a single rod with a magnet on each end, with coils top and bottom. Or perhaps have the strips mounted vertically, rather than horizontally, so there's much less gravity drag.

Wow! Great example of constructive "out of the box" thinking. Very nice!
I wonder how efficiencies compare with conventional windmills.

Going back into the dim recesses of my mind, back to the days when a ringing telephone actually used a bell, I think the ringer consisted of a couple of electromagnetic coils side by side. I wonder where there would be an avenue for recycling old phones?? Just move the magnet between the coils.
