As you undoubtedly have heard by now, Al Gore and the IPCC share this year's Nobel Peace Prize for their work on climate change awareness. Not sure if I would have grouped the IPCC in that category (being a political body they did as much as any of the governments to sweep climate change under the rug), but overall I applaud the Nobel Prize committee for their decision. After being a disastrous presidential candidate (for those that weren't in the US at that time, you should have watched the debates), I believe Al has now found his calling. Not to mention that he's the only person with both a Grammy and a Nobel prize.

Congratulations Al!

Well done Mr Gore.

And talking about debates, within a couple of hours, our Prime Minister is expected to ask the Governor-General to dissolve Parliament to clear the decks for a Federal election on 24 Nov.

After 11 years of driving the country, it's only been in the last few months that the Government has even acknowledged the reality of climate change.

It'll be interesting to see what emerges in the electoral debates.

Joe

Al Gore won a Grammy? I thought it was an Oscar. Does he have a singing career too? Does he sing about climate change?:D

Hi Mark,

Yes, you're right. Blame not enough coffee (or was too much coffee??)...
