just wanted to know if anybody has used tempered glass from a shower door for a air heater or is it better to use clear glass:)

seems like a great idea, cost effective, can be had for salvage, since they can be had for free many times, I don't think the loss would be an issue if they were free to begin with, I am trying to be patient myself, Trying to go off grid with only salvaged materials with not up front cost, utilizing what is coming from construction cleanup,re-models, and handyman business I do part time.

Sure ..Why not, any type of reasonably clear tempered glass will work as the front pane over an Air heater or Solar hot water heater if you are building a DIY homemade panel...

it may have the same effect as a magnifying glass, especially if the glass is irregular, I think it is a great idea

i did use a shower door and clear glass the only difference in haet was 4 degrees, so recycle that old glass into something of value. Mine is producing 145deg. by 10am insid of window.:D
