Here's a little CNN article about EEStor's super capacitor (http://edition.cnn.com/2007/TECH/09/07/electric.car.batteries.ap/index.html). This company has been in the news on and off, with the promise of a super sized capacitor in a small package. Enough energy storage to run a car on for long distances. It would improve upon existing capacitor technology by several orders of magnitude. Some see it as the future, some as impossible from a materials science perspective. So far no prototype, at least nothing the company cares to show the world.

By the way, this is not just an interesting concept for car use. It is in essence a really good battery, and would do wonders for off-grid (and grid-tied-with-backup) use of renewable energy.

Hi Rob,

I have been following EESTOR with curiosity since first announcement. This latest press release has no new news. In fact, it is Zenn Motors making the release not EESTOR.

Most definitely a disruptive technology if they can pull it off. Would replace almost all battery applications.

They now have 3 months left of 2007 to meet their promised release date of a product.

Regards,
Mark
