Is the Canadian solar grid tie inverter compliance standard UL1741/2010/120 or UL1741/2010/208?

I'm commissioning a SunnyBoy 5.0 inverter in a grid tied configuration.

Dan, I'm not quite following...
Your first line is about Canadian Solar inverters, the next about SMA's SunnyBoy inverter.

Canadian Solar only sells 3-phase 480V grid-tie inverters as far as I know. They in fact don't make any inverter, they make panels, the inverters are OEM'd by Solis/Ginlong in China. Those CSI 3-phase inverters are CSA listed and legal in Canada.

SunnyBoy inverters have been around a long time, and they too meet CSA requirements for use in Canada.

I noticed that California has a standard compliance: CA Rule 21. I was wondering what the rule/regulation is for Canada.

To the best of my knowledge no jurisdiction in Canada requires Rule 21 (or similar functionality) at this time. Generally Ontario is the one where new rules are first enforced, and we don't have it here yet. I've not heard from customers in other provinces that it is required either.

Of course, as with anything entering code in the US, the Canadian CEC eventually follows and sometimes adds its own additional requirements, making it even worse (if history is a guide)...
