Nice going people. Roll on the next solar challenge in Oct 2019.

Just over 3 kWh per 100 km... That's pretty good! Of course, here in Canada this time of year you'd use more just to keep the passengers from freezing!

What I find interesting is that the car looks a whole lot more mainstream than earlier solar cars. The cells seem to be pretty standard too. Maybe things are moving towards the mainstream.

So, how's summer going so far Joe? Getting toasty yet?

The warm weather is starting to crank up (unfortunately), after a couple of fairly dry months, though our annual rainfall is looking like reaching the average. The coming Friday has a predicted top of 38C so I'm dragging my little wheel-around air cooler out of storage in preparation.

On the up side, solar power generated has continued apace, even though I'm now sporting an electric scooter. This graph shows the percentage of my monthly consumption generated on my rooftop.

Since Easter 2017 I've ridden about 4,800 km strictly on sunshine, saving me roughly $15 per fortnight in petrol not consumed by my ICE motorcycle.
