The Green Ontario Fund (https://www.greenon.ca/en/programs/greenon-solar-rebates) announced it is going to pay $1/Watt for new net-metering solar systems in Ontario. No specific start date has been posted yet, their wording is "summer 2018".

There are programs for home-owners as well as industry, with a 10kW cap for the former, 500kW for the latter (at a rate of 75 ct/Watt). There are incentives for off-grid systems and battery backup as well, though the little bit of wording that was released talks about those only being paid for displacing diesel generation.

All in all, these are exiting times to be in the solar industry in Ontario! Let's hope the government does a better job running these programs than they did with FIT and MicoFIT.

That sounds amazing! If it goes through it will keep you busy Rob. I wonder if there's any chance of collecting for existing systems:wondering: Probably not except in a parallel universe.

The prices are great, and even off-grid is included. If a person doesn't mind dealing with bureaucratic bs (like the Fit and microFit programs invented) then go for it!

It does indeed sound amazing Ralph! I just wonder how much of this is tied to who wins the upcoming provincial elections, or if there is funding regardless. Could be that it never goes beyond an announcement.

By the way, other provinces already have similar incentives going (Manitoba is 1 $/W, and both SK and AB have incentives).

I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
