Reports say it's the hottest and dryest summer here since the 40s. Certainly affects the PV production. A 3 min. cloud burst last night did nothing for the scorched earth. Field crops are lost unless irrigated, hay crop was short and less than half. Wells are bone dry that were never known to run out.Grass fires are popping up every week usually because someone is careless. But they are being heavily fined for their stupidity.Hopefully it won't last too much longer. Look for local fruits and veggies to be small and expensive.

Total daily kWh production does go down in reverse correlation with temperature but the number of sun-hours has more than made up for it.

I track the production of my microFIT installation and, this year, the May-June (May 8th to July 8th billing cycle) production has been the best of the last 6 years (even after theoretical cell-aging degradation).
2011: 1082 kWh
2012: 1380 kWh
2013: 1220 kWh
2014: 1319 kWh
2015: 1273 kWh
2016: 1486 kWh (18% above previous 5-year average)

I expect this will be true for July-August as well.

May 21---June 21 2016 was our best production also @ 1608 kw. Before that goes back to Apr. 2013. However since then I think our daily production has dropped some (waiting this week for email report) I could be wrong. Days have been hot and hazy which leads me to believe is the cause.

While indisputably an incredibly hot 2 months, its also been very sunny. Production was the highest July-August so far and 7% above the average of those previous 4 years.
