Some inverters are allready out of warranty and then come with a int. error 031

This is most of the time a loose island on one of the relays

Flip over the main board after unscrewing and you see what i mean
clean the island and solder again can fix the problem

Please do not try to open or repair stuff , if you are not a engineer

Thanks Cor! Definitely good to know.

Do you happen to have any pictures that show the spot on the board? As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words... It would help people locate the issue.

The int. error 031 can be coused by a bad contact on the relays
sometimes it is a temporary error (thats the start of the problem)
At startup of the unit the relais do not click firm but lame.
Also it is possible that you hear a krispy sound .

Disconnect the unit and place it on a good worktable
Let the unit unconnected for a 1 hour time so the internal capacitors are unloaded

Open up the front cover
remove the 4 wires from the DC input (switch) to the board (pull)
Keep in mind where they where or make photo

Turn over the unit on the face down.

Unscrew all Torx screws on the bottem plate
The 3 upper and the 3 lower also hold the hangers These screws are longer.

Now softly lift up the cover and take it off

You see the main controller board steel cover plate
this is held by two screws on one site
the other site has a double hinge system so the complete plate can be flipped up

Do this and remove the flatcable that is coming from the front panel keyboard display

Take care not to damage the connection from the blower on the board

Now unscrew all little screws that hold the board to the steelplate
when done then you can flip the board and look at the bottem side where all the soldering islands are.

On the other site, component site you find a couple of Zettler relais white or black

The soldering trough the board can have a black circel with bad or no connection.
clean these bad contacts with a scraper and solder them firmly again
make sure to use a good soldering iron and not a tool to fix the rainpipe

It is possible that the isolation cover that is between the steelplate and the logicboard has also a heat mark.
cut a part of the isolation cover on a wasted place and glue it over the damaged part
so the isolation is restored

Rebuild the unit

Make use of magnetic screwdrivers and do not loose anything insite the unit

DO NOT FORGET THE FLATCABLE display
and to set the DC connection cables on plus and minus back to the input board

I must say again and again and again
This information in for technicians only !!!
and i do not feel reliable for damage in what ever way.

If your unit is in warranty do NOT OPEN IT

When you have a CAP error E15 on a Power-one inverter in the series 3.0
Check the bleeding resistors that are in parallel with the capacitors
only when cut from the board you can find out the real value
it should read 120 K

No need to unsolder the capacitors as I did in the picture

The PVI version of ABB and power One can be used in Parallel mode also,
In this mode you use the full power of the inverter on just one input channel.

To do this you need to hard jumper the both input DC channels with the red and black
jumper wires that also come in the box

Then you should set the MODE switch in parallel

READY OR NOT ?

This was the fact in the old versions
But when you do this in the new versions you shall see that the readings on the display are non sens
It toggles the power on both input channels and the value is abnormal

IN THE SETTINGS MENU YOU SHOULD ALSO SET THE SOFTWARE TO PARALLEL

Then it works correct

At the moment the unit wants to go on the grid it goes in error 01

Check Diode D17 on the power board
it could be short circuit
when this is the case you measure here 0,2 Ohms over the diode in both directions

Just cut the diode and try if the unit is working again

when this is the case then replace the diode for a new one
