View Full Version : micro inverters power one

does anyone know how to unpair a micro inverter with a CDD unit ?
this is the case,
if you pair a power one micro inverter with a CDD unit then it is locked out for other CDD
units.
this is because the neighbours could log on to this micro inverter
but when you have micro inverters in stock
and for testing purpose you have connected them to a random CDD unit , then it seems not possible to reconnect to a other CDD
now when you sold the CDD unit and kept the microinverter you have a problem
that the microinverter can not be used again
there should be a way to put the thing in factory default
who has info on this
kind regards

Cor, never received an answer actually...
I've just sent it to another guy. Hopefully that will be more productive.

Just got an answer, this guy was much faster!
"Yes it can be easily done by uploading new firmware in the cdd. You need to ask service for 2.1.9 and upload instructions"
In essence it sounds like you simply wipe out the old firmware and settings by uploading a new firmware (may be the same version as the old one, but without the settings that pair the micros).
On a similar note, if the CDD were to break you can keep the existing micros pair by noting the last 4 digits of the MAC address and cloning that into a new CDD.
Let me know how this works out!

Hello Rob,
By clooning the cdd unit you tell the cdd to behave as the old one did.
that's why the inverters do not see any difference
but the inverters are still locked out on all cdd units, but the one it was connected with in the past.
It seems they do not want to go to the core of this
I want to reset the inverter , so it behaves like a brand new one , and can be connected to whatever cdd unit.
if you find next year a inverter in the warehouse that you or someone has connected once to a cdd unit
it is locked out.
you cannot connect , so not find any adress , no updates , nothing.
I think there should be software to install on a computer system that polls together with a zigbee dongel and lookes if there are inverter within reach
with a master password it must be possible to connect to the , or any micro inverter.
then after connecting you can update or reset
this is what i think and looking for
a partner of power one should have this possibillity.
