Hi! My name is Paul Roeder and I live in beautiful NE Iowa. My wife and I have switched our light bulbs out to the new, more efficient type. Our truck runs on 100 % biodiesel, made from waste vegetable oil, wood is still our heat source in the winter, and our first large wind turbine, (900KW) will be installed in October of this year. Remember.....we do not inherit this planet from our ancestors, rather, we borrow it from our kids. Paul

Welcome Paul

Interesting to have access to one who is not in the micro world of R/E.

I find 1kw gives me 20-25% of my household power for the year, how big a development are you servicing with 900kw? or are you selling power as a small (?) producer?

Welcome to Green Power Talk Paul!
900kW is most definitely "large wind"! What brand/type is this? WES? Though they only make turbines up to 250kW as far as I know. Can't think of any other Dutch manufacturers of large turbines though. Please let us know more. I'm Dutch, so I'm definitely interested in anything RE coming out of there...

Ralph, the power is being sold to a local utility to be put on the distribution grid and fed to the local residents.

Rob, the turbine is the same as the one on the waterfront in Ontario, except a little larger. The company that has the rights for North America is called AWE.

I have recently purchased an AM radio tower and plan one day to build my own turbines for it. I look forward to utilizing the expertise of the people on this site to help make a successful project.
