Hello All,

This is the first time that I have posted in a very long time, but I believe that if you don't have something constructive to say don't say anything at all, and I feel you learn more by listening than talking. I now have some property with what I think is a good stream to produce some power for the cabin I have built this past summer, so to all you engineers and experts on this subject be prepared to be asked a lot of questions. As I am not an engineer everything I do is by trial and error. Said that, I do not want to reinvent the wheel so I will be asking a lot of questions and this is where I'm going to miss my good friend Mark. As a first question I would like to ask if anybody in the group remembers the name or web site of the people, I believe in the east coast of Canada, that deals with small types of stream generators. I know we talked about this and I've searched through this web site but I cannot seem to come across their information.

Thanking you in advance,
Mario

P.S. If anybody is interested in keeping the thread open I will post a couple of pictures of this project as it progresses.

Hi Mario, This might be the link you're looking for. www.powerpal.com

They are on the west coast but still in Canada. What area is the new property located?

Yes, keep us posted on your progress.

Martin.

How much water and what height head (or drop?) do you have?

Thanks to Ralph and Martin for some suggestions to start my search.

Martin, my lot consists of 100 acres of bush land south of Bancroft with the creek running through the property beginning from a spring fed Lake to the east and draining to the West into another lake.

Ben, I just acquired the property at the end of June and spent all summer building a cabin and all I know about the creek is that it runs year round. If I go to the beginning of the creek I may have about 25 ft. of head or drop which would mean few hundred feet of pipe. My first approach would be to try some kind of water wheel across the creek like Mark made for his cabin. I also have no idea how to measure the amount of flow the creek has and up to now I only saw the creek running from June to December.
