Hello i am new.
I starting a new Hydro with pelton wheel but i need a generator for 24v and min of 500 watt .
500 feet of cable to reach my house so as this affects me.
thanks

Hi Alexis,
Depending on your DIY skills you could build your own axial-flux alternator. For 500 Watt it wouldn't be a large one. Another possible candidate could be Ginlong's low voltage 500 Watt alternator (http://www.ginlong.com/wind-turbine-pmg-pma-permanent-magnet-generator-alternator-GL-PMG-500A.htm). I don't know at what RPM you produce 500W (and conceivably you would need at least 28V DC, so around 22V AC 3-phase); the Ginlong needs around 450 RPM for that power.

but that is enough to charge six 110amp Battery the distance between Battery and the generator is 500 feet of cable.
this causes loss of power and what type of cable i should use

You need either higher voltage, or shorter distance. Better yet, both. For 500 feet, you really want to be pushing 240v or higher. Otherwise you just lose it all in the wire.
For 500 feet You'd need about 2 AWG copper to have somewhat acceptable voltage drop at 24v. At that cost, you may as well just buy a battery charger.
It's not worth trying to move 500w 500 feet. It's to expensive for to little gain. Reconsider your plans.
What do you actually want to do?

Alexis, for 3-phase AC wiring, alternator running at around 20V phase-to-phase, you're looking at a 6.1% loss for 0 AWG copper, and 9.8% loss for the same in aluminum. Given the distance you probably want to use aluminum, in that case 000 AWG will get you 6.3% loss, 0000 AWG brings it to 5.0%. That's thick stuff...
