Hi all,

I've just joined this forum, from a quick look around it seems there's lots of useful learning material & moreover, like-minded people with good ideas... so: hello world!

I'm a hobbyist renewable energy geek, I've played around mostly with off-grid solar pv (though I did buy a Rutland 503 with the express intent of strapping it to our chimney as an experiment). You can see my experiments here:

I'm also quite interested in the new[-ish] microFIT program in Ontario, have been doing some research on that recently.

G'day Steve.

Welcome to board. Another solar geek "down-under" here. My little projects are scattered hither and yon through the forum. Mostly to do with solar assisted transport and "on-roof" photovoltaics.

Thanks for the warm welcome Joe,

Solar-assisted transport sounds interesting - I always found it odd that electric & hybrid cars didn't come with solar pv integrated... I know the Prius can, but from what I understand it only powers the aircon?

Being an antipodean (but then we all are, eh? ;) have you ever been involved in the Solar Challenge races?

I've not been personally involved in the Solar Challenge but I certainly try and keep up with it when it's on.

Here's a link to one of my projects from a couple of years ago.

And here is (or are) the latest incarnation.
